“I am the spirit that negates. And rightly so, for all that comes to be Deserves to perish wretchedly;
Twere better nothing would begin.
Thus everything that that your terms, sin,
Destruction, evil represent — That is my proper element.”?Johann Wolfgang von Goethe,Faust – Part One

Qlipha Samael deserves a special treatment from our side and in the same time we must acknowledge that is the first from another point of view. If Hod represents the intellect, the genius and thus the one that has a better understanding of the world as an entire living being and is respecting its laws, Samel is the ”mad genius”, the one who invented Frankenstein, who doesn’t cares about moral standards or the status quo of the existing world. All the other Spheres before it,were involved, more or less into Malkuth too,at least regarding the body of light and the psyche. When we sacrificed our Ego and with it the light of this world, it is time for Samel to come into action-here all the ”light” aspects are dissolved into the Abyss, revealing only the ”dark core”-the new born baby of the Magickian. Again here we do not deal with philosophical terms and theory but with real facts that strike the Adept on his path and among the visible  signs of this phenomenon we find mental disorders. One of the most famous thinkers that was also an adept of Samel Qlipha, was Friedrich Nietzsche who died of a rare type of dementia-we all remember his writings that seem out of this realm and are of a profound unique aesthetic. Here madness become wisdom and vice versa, the world reveling its new shapes and perfumes and the feeling of ”not belonging to anywhere” gives the Adept social anxiety. Samael is indeed the ”Poison of God” because it destroys all the phantasms of the world both physical and astral, facing the magickian with his fears and monsters until it remains only ”the dark core”.

According to the Zohar, Samel is linked to the angels of sacred prostitution:Na’amath,Eisheth Zenunim,Agrat Bat Mahlat and in the same time is the mate of Lilith the Harlot as leaders of Sitra Ahra. This places him again on the sphere of sacred sex and sex rituals. Here though we see the union of male and female counterparts as seen in Mantak Chia books (Healing Love through the Tao: Cultivating Female Sexual Energy by Mantak Chia and Maneewan Chia; Taoist Secrets of Love: Cultivating Male Sexual Energy by Mantak Chia and Michael Winn).

Samael appears in Talmudic and post Talmudic writings being one of the most famous figures and not always portrayed as ”evil”. He is the one that fetches the soul of Moses when the Lawgiver’s days on earth had come to an end, he is also the Esau’s guardian angel (Talmud Yalkut I,110); he tempted David to number Israel and he also listens to a God’s command to torture Jacob.
” Mention of Samael as the angel of death first occurs in Targum Jonathan on Genesis 3:6, and this identification frequently appears in late aggadot, especially in the legends on the death of Moses at the end of Deuteronomy Rabbah, at the end of Avot de-Rabbi Nathan (ed. Schecter (1945), 156). In Deuteronomy Rabbah 11, Samael is called “Samael the wicked, the head of all the devils.” The name “Samael the wicked” is repeated consistently in Heikhalot Rabbati(1948), chapter 5, an apocalyptic source. The Hebrew Enoch 14:2, acknowledges him as “chief of the tempters” “greater than all the heavenly kingdoms.” This text differentiates between Satan and Samael, the latter being none other than the guardian angel of Rome (ibid. 6:26). In traditions concerning the rebellion of the angels in heaven (PdRE 13–14 (1852), he is the leader of the rebel armies. Prior to his defeat he had 12 wings, and his place was higher than the hayyot(“holy heavenly creatures”) and the seraphim. ”(http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org).Jacob remains the only one that defeated Samel in a fight and thus his name was changed into Isra-El or ”the one who defeat (an) El (angel) -Jacob being the name of the natural posterity and Israel is simply the spiritual name of that part of the nation. According to the Jewish tradition Samel is in charge of all nations but holds no power over Israel, except Yom Kippur, when he is bribed with a goat(or at least it used to be).

Plague, war,misery and insanity-those are the arguments of this Qlipha and the one that can defeat the king’s Samael artifices can be revered as a true Adept of the Left Hand Path.
